This role is responsible for the design and drafting of 3D models and 2D drawings that may include any of the following : define the layout and arrangement of structures, systems, and components (SSCs) of the reactor / plant design.

Job Profile Tasks / Responsibilities

• Create relevant 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings of various equipment, equipment integration, plant layout, structures, systems and / or components.
• Assess models for manufacturability as well as assembly and integration considerations.
• Perform a variety of design / drafting activities for the engineering group including preparing and updating manufacturing drawings.
• Serve as an information source on planning and design of equipment installations : equipment and plant engineering.
• Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation for current and future reference.
• Identify and follow XE processes, procedures, and guides, as well as best CAD modelling and drafting practices.
• Collaborate in planning, scheduling, and organization of detailed phases of engineering work.
• Adhere to filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up-to-date drawings.
• Maintain system and model compatibility in X-energy's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and Plant Design Environments (PDE).
• The role may include specialization in one or more of the following areas :
• Component, System Design : Work closely with the responsible engineers to develop mechanical / physical concepts, designs, and processes to create SSCs related to the project.
• Equipment / Plant Layout Integration Design : Utilize S3D to create 3D piping design models within and supporting the SMR plant.

Location : 151 Lafayette Drive, Suite 300, Oak Ridge, TN

Work Site Expectations : 5 days a week in office

Travel : 10%

Hours : 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm, Mon-Fri

Compensation : $87,300- $111,550

Position Job Classification : Full time - Exempt
