Job Tasks / Duties
- Maintains and makes general repairs to the teak furniture (tables, chairs, loungers, beach chairs and railings) this includes Sanding, staining and finish coat to keep in like new condition.
- Ability to use power tools drills, pneumatic sanders and saws.
- Knowledge of use of marine epoxy for repairs
- Inspect all teak furniture on a monthly schedule to determine work that is needed
- Maintain records of all teak furniture (last refinish date, repairs made etc.)
- Number and tag all furniture for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain board walk area, including replace boards and treat wood with sealer.
- Keeps the work shop areas safe and clean.
- Be cheerful and courteous.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Maintenance Director.
Education and / or Experience
One year of comparable work preferredHigh School education or G.E.D EquivalentJob Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
Basic knowledge of trades to understand repair problems and make minor repairsGeneral knowledge of power tools.Knowledge about maintaining, cleaning and preserving a wide variety of surfaces.Follows instruction regarding the use of chemicals and suppliesKnowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements :
Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.Occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
