Responsible for providing timely and accurate responses to incoming telephone calls and overhead paging systems. Furnishes appropriate information to callers and obtains sufficient details to accurately route calls and inquiries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Front line communication representing the practiceAnswers all incoming calls to switchboard and routes calls appropriatelyPersonable and friendly employee with ability to greet patients in a pleasant mannerEmployee must demonstrate confidence, professionalism, responsiveness and exceptional customer service skillsCommunicate effectively and understand callers needs. Transfer calls and share information quickly and accuratelyAbility to recognize emergency situations and how and who to contact in such given situationResponsible to coordinate with answering service to open and close switchboardResponsible to correlate or communicate physician schedule changes with answering service and other clinicsRelays messages to clinics / offices accuratelyAbility to answer patient inquiriesSuperior knowledge of HIPAA privacy regulations and privacy rulesStrict adherence to issues of patient confidentialitySupport the staff on various projects, but not at the expense of the phone coveragePerform other duties assigned by managerSKILLS REQUIRED :
Previous customer service experienceAbility to multi-taskAble to work in a fast-paced environmentExperience with handling multiple phone linesBasic MS Word and Excel?Must be detailed orientedSelf-starter and able to work independentlyBilingual English / Spanish requiredProfessional attitude and demeanor, must have excellent phone and communication skillsEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum high school graduationPreferred two-year college degree or equivalent two-year work experience in healthcare facility.PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Normal office environment.?Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence.?Occasional overtime may be required.
