Job descriptionPrepare and serve coffee, specialty drinks, and other beverages. Present food items according to established standards. Assist with basic food preparation and assembly of preordered or complimentary items. Complete opening and closing procedures, including equipment setup and shutdown. Restock service areas and maintain organized workstations. Keep the café clean and sanitary, including tables, counters, floors, and equipment. Assist back-of-house operations and support overall team efficiency. Follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards. Adhere to workplace safety rules and company policies. Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations and team needs High school diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years old. One year of customer or food service experience preferred. Must pass drug screening and background check. Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted. Valid Food Handler’s Permit and Alcohol Certification. Knowledge of food and beverage service. POS experience and cash-handling skills. Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and nights. Positive attitude, strong communication, multitasking skills, and willingness to cross-train.

The Copper Spike Café Attendant provides friendly and efficient service to guests, prepares and serves food and beverages, processes transactions accurately, and maintains a clean, organized café environment. This role supports a positive guest experience and upholds Verde Canyon Railroad’s standards for service, hygiene, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Transactions
- Greet guests, take orders, and provide product recommendations.
- Process cash and credit card payments accurately using the POS system.
- Manage cash drawers, including daily counts and reconciliation.
- Coordinate with staff to accommodate special requests and preorders.
