Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated Orientation and Mobility Specialist to join a school district in Tacoma, Washington . This position supports students with visual impairments across K12 grade levels, helping them develop the skills needed for safe, confident, and independent travel in school and community environments.
Responsibilities :
Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments.
Conduct assessments and develop individualized O&M plans based on student needs.
Collaborate with TVIs, special education staff, and families to support student goals.
Teach safe travel skills in indoor and outdoor settings, including public transportation when appropriate.
Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports in compliance with IEPs and district requirements.
Qualifications :
Valid Washington ESA (Educational Staff Associate) certificate.
Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) credentials.
Previous experience in a K12 educational setting preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
