Role
Stott & May is representing an Artificial Intelligence (Legal) Startup in New York. We are looking for a talented attorney with a proven litigation background to join an organization comprised of former AmLaw 50 attorneys from Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and more.
Sitting at the intersection of law and technology, this role is perfect for high-performing attorneys eager to apply their legal knowledge in a practical role that is closer to the product, and will lead the industry in minimizing the administrative, operational tasks fund's lawyers are tasked with each day, that take them away from adding value.
You will work closely with General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer-level customers, guiding and advising them on the strategy and best practices with respect to leveraging artificial intelligence to deliver solutions and business outcomes for their organization.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Act as a legal subject matter expert from a litigation and / or appellate perspective, contributing actively to the product development lifecycle.
- Translate complex legal and business problems into actionable insights and become a trusted advisor and authority to clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI engineers, product specialists, and client engagement teams, to enhance client experiences and drive platform improvements.
- Prepare and deliver tailored insights, client presentations, and in-depth analyses of regulatory frameworks.
- Engage in strategic initiatives to elevate our brand, crafting metrics-driven content that reinforces our mission and impact.
Qualifications
A J.D. from a top 25 law school and 5–15 years of experience at a Global 100 firmExtensive knowledge of litigation, the courtroom, and / or the appellate systemA proven background and confidence in dealing with CxO stakeholdersA passion for technology and artificial intelligence, with a strong desire to use your experience to bridge the gap between law and technologyOutstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholdersA technical background would be helpful, but it is not needed to succeedPlease note this is a product-facing position, which will not be formally practising the law.
