The Benefits Specialists serve as front-line support to provide life-cycle benefit administration and benefit enrollment support to the clients Human Resources department and employees. Ensure employees are aware of plan offerings resources and tools to gain more control over their health care choices. Responsibilities include telephonic contact with employees and a range of client-specified complex and confidential administrative and project-related support to the benefits team. The Specialist is responsible for embracing the culture of our client and contributing to the culture of well-being to best serve.
Location : This position is fully remote. Candidates must reside in a state where BCInsourcing operates to be eligible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops and maintains a detailed understanding and in-depth working knowledge of the clients benefit plans and carrier relationships. Follows the clients internal processes policies and best practices when performing all duties.
- Provides a variety of benefit administration based on the clients needs. Duties include (but are not limited to) the administration of qualifying life events; status changes; dependent verification; billing benefit enrollment applications; terminations; and varied assistance programs.
- Guides employees through their core and voluntary benefit options following compliance and best practices. Accepts service calls and appointment requests from employees regarding benefit plans and any enrollment-related questions. Also conducts outbound service calls to follow up and address employee benefit enrollment questions or concerns.
- Creates and maintains a professional environment providing timely resolution of benefits inquiries for employees via phone and email. Promptly coordinates with leaders and other appropriate parties when recognizing an accelerated issue or unusual matter to ensure it is resolved thoroughly and accurately for the employee.
- Guided by the clients internal processes investigates and independently resolves benefits-related concerns. Responds to employee and carrier inquiries in a timely and accurate manner. Serves as a liaison between the clients Human Resources department employees and the benefit carriers.
- Accurately tracks employee benefits and client support in appropriate systems. Practices methodical steps in maintaining employee records to ensure compliance requirements are met; participates in recognizing process improvement and efficiencies.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the clients annual open enrollment process. Participates in the delivery of open enrollment and any other special enrollments. Schedule operations may fluctuate during such times to meet the needs of the client including extended work hours.
- Supports the Benefit Service Specialist and Leaves Coordinator as requested to provide the highest level of service to our clients HR department and the employees.
- Regular attendance is required. Hours may fluctuate during open enrollment periods and special projects in order to meet the needs of the client including extended work hours.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years of benefit administration relevant work experience.Work experience demonstrating exceptional customer-oriented written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Technology savvy with proven proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically MS Excel to include sorting / filtering pivot tables and creating formulas.Unwavering ability to exercise sound and timely judgment and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.Professional experience demonstrating client service skills while multitasking and working with strict deadlines.Clear ability to be resourceful exhibiting common sense and flexibility.Professional experience demonstrating self-driven solutions with little supervision.Proven professional experience following a step-by-step process while using deductive reasoning to produce positive outcomes.PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
