OSI Laser Diode, a division of OSI Optoelectronics is seeking an Operations Engineering Manager who will be responsible for the overall management of the Laser Diode operation. This individual will lead the team in overseeing and optimizing operational processes. Will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability of production. This role often involves managing projects, collaborating with Manufacturing & Engineering teams, and implementing solutions to improve operational performance. Including achieving production schedules, product quality, and employee safety. Drives performance to achieve or exceed business objectives. Leverages resources and motivates personnel to create high performance. Manages financial budgets, resources and implements strategic planning for growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of day-to-day manufacturing and engineering, including managing against a master plan, developing and maintaining the necessary skill sets to support required business goals and customer commitments.
- Assesses performance indicators, and takes appropriate actions, to ensure schedule, cost, and quality goals are met. Identify and implement manufacturing strategies to improve productivity, reduce system costs, improve processes and product quality to drive profitable growth.
- Managing and mentoring a team of engineers, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative work environment Ensures required documentation and / or system transactions are executed to meet customer and ERP system requirements.
- Manage facility HR tasks including : (1) coordinating with Corporate on recruiting, candidate selection and training for new employees, (2) schedule, task and counsel the work force, (3) communicate objectives clearly and hold contributors accountable, (4) appraise performance and promote exceptional staff and (5) enforce OSI Company policies and procedures.
- Provides leadership and commitment in support of continuing improvements in quality, productivity, and delivery performance.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline required.Minimum 5 years' professional experience in a managerial role related to a manufacturing environment.Solid working knowledge of manufacturing product cost and inventory processes.Experience with establishing and monitoring performance metrics, including manufacturing cycle time, successful shipping, supplier ratings and product costing.Experience in ESD and cleanliness special control processes.Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams.Experience developing and maintaining manufacturing quality system compliant with ISO 9001 requirements.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability and Veterans.
