About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : WA or Compact License

Certifications : BLS, Bio / Chemotherapy Certification preferred but not required

Must-Have : At least 1 year of clinical experience

Description :

Unit has 18 beds and patient ratios of 1 : 4 or 1 : 5.

Common diagnoses include medical oncology with medical surgical overflow patients.

Common conditions treated are CHF, DM, UTI, non-critical sepsis, HTN, and COPD.

RNs are required to titrate comfort care medication and limited heparin and Cardizem drips.

Common titratable drips include narcotics, benzodiazepines, heparin, and Cardizem (up to 10 mg / hr).

RNs will read telemetry strips and may have access to telemetry monitoring staff.

Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned.

Nurse aides are available on the unit with a ratio of 1 : 9.

Equipment in use includes CPAP and BiPAP; high flow oxygen is not utilized.

Weekend requirements will be based on unit needs and demands.

Floating may be required to similar departments if necessary.

A professional dress code is expected.

This is a brand-new department opening in December.

Nursing staff will undergo 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation.

The hospital reserves the right to cancel shifts as needed.

The charting system in use is EPIC.
