Position Summary :

The Behavior Specialist helps coordinate Functional Assessments of Behavior and Behavior Intervention Plan that address students’ inappropriate behaviors and provide a means to help the students become more academically successful. Behavior Intervention Specialist also provides classroom and school-wide behavior management strategies.

Training and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in counseling, social work or special education required.
  • Master’s degree with emphasis in counseling, social work or applied behavior analysis preferred.
  • Experience in a similar position or counseling position preferred.
  • Training or related experience in counseling, special education or social work preferred.

Licensing / Certification Requirements :

  • Valid DPS fingerprint clearance card.
  • Certification or licensure through ADE or Arizona Board of Behavioral Health preferred.
  • Examiners / CISW / CPC / BCBA preferred.
