New Progressions is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health services that support individuals and families in achieving stability, recovery, and improved quality of life. We are currently seeking a Certified Addiction Counselor to join our team and provide professional therapeutic intervention and assessment services to individuals in need of crisis intervention, counseling, and ongoing support.
Job Purpose :
The Certified Addiction Counselor will deliver substance abuse counseling services, including assessment, treatment planning, long-term counseling, psychoeducation, case management, advocacy, and follow-up. This role works closely with the medical director, clinical director, interdisciplinary treatment team, and community partners to ensure clients receive comprehensive and individualized care.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct evaluations, intakes, treatment planning, counseling, and discharge planning.
Provide individual, group, family, and couples therapy focused on recovery and sobriety.
Develop and document individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs.
Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and criminal justice officials to support client progress.
Maintain accurate case records, progress notes, treatment plans, reports, and urine surveillance systems.
Facilitate process groups, psychoeducational sessions, and community-based interventions.
Ensure compliance with confidentiality, risk management, and all federal, state, and local regulations.
Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain knowledge of best practices.
Identify opportunities for program improvement and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Exhibit professionalism, courtesy, and tact when working with clients, families, and other stakeholders.
Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.
Required Qualifications :
Current Georgia state license or certification as a Certified Addiction Counselor.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in addiction counseling (preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
Professionalism, accountability, and openness to feedback.
Schedule :
4-hour shifts (Full-Time)
