Role : CMM Programmer - 6 Months - Weekend Shift
Location : Farmington, CT
What You will Do :
- Set up and operate Zeiss CMMs to inspect parts according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Develop and optimize inspection programs using Zeiss software (e.g., Calypso) to measure parts accurately
- Analyze measurement data, generate CMM reports, and identify any deviations from the required tolerances
- Ensure manufactured parts meet the quality standards and collaborate with manufacturing engineering and quality to address issues
- Perform thorough inspections of prototype and production parts, ensuring they meet close tolerance and quality requirements
- Verify assemblies and components for dimensional accuracy
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including creating and maintaining inspection reports. Ensure compliance with quality system procedures and documentation.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, machinists, and quality control personnel
- Additional duties as assigned by the manager.
Work Experience
What You Will Bring :
The position requires being on Weekend 3rd shift, hours 5 : 00 PM - 5 : 00 AM Friday through Sunday, 4 hours Monday afternoon.Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent from a technical school preferred3-5 years related experience in CMM Zeiss Calypso programmingUnderstanding of manufacturing principles and SPC processMeticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and documentationProficiency in setting up and operating Zeiss CMMs and experience with relevant software (Calypso)Ability to validate CMM programsStrong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)Experience with various measurement tools and techniquesAbility to analyze measurement data, identify trends, and interpret resultsPay Range : $35.00 / hr - $40.00 / hr
Work Requirements : This role is considered an on-site position located in Farmington, CT.
You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.Shop floor environment, which may include, but is not limited to, extensive walking, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.Travel requirements : Due to the nature of the work, 0% of travel is required.
