Senior Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead complex electrical design projects and drive innovation in our engineering solutions.

Role : Senior Electrical Design Engineer

General Duties :

Develop designs for complex engineering systems.

Prepare drawings and technical reports.

Participate in the development of design standards and procedures.

Perform technical reviews of design documents and specifications.

Provide engineering services and support to construction activities.

Prepare and review design standards and procedures.

Prepare construction installation specifications and details.

Prepare procurement specifications and bid analysis.

Review and approve Design Change Forms.

Resolve existing design discrepancies using cost-effective approaches to meet design criteria.

Initiate Design Change Forms and coordinate with subcontractors or responsible groups for approval / incorporation.

Provide dispositions for Nonconformance Reports and Field Problem Memos by determining compliant solutions.

Perform inspections of facilities, systems, or components for proper condition evaluation.

Review construction procedures for compliance with design engineering criteria and applicable codes.

Perform in-depth analyses of advanced technical concepts and devise new approaches to technical problems.

Position-Specific Duties :

Provide Electrical Designer staff augmentation support to SRNS .

Primary responsibilities include design development and generating design output documents in areas such as :

Equipment Layout

Grounding

Raceway Layout

Lighting Systems

Schematics, Connection, and Wiring Diagrams

All services must follow SRNS processes and procedures .

Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

Education / Experience :

Associate's degree in a technical discipline and 10–12 years of work experience

OR

12–16 years of practical work experience

Required Experience / Skills :

Minimum 8 years of experience as an Electrical Designer

In-depth knowledge of :

Engineering systems

Calculations and materials

Construction methods

Relevant computer applications

Advanced application of engineering principles to solve field and construction-related problems

Working knowledge of national codes and standards , including :

IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, and OSHA

Recent (within 5 years) experience using 2D MicroStation CAD software

Ability to perform field walk-downs in active construction environments, including :

Walking over uneven terrain

Climbing ladders

Walking distances of 0.5+ miles

Wearing protective clothing

Preferred Qualifications :

Active DOE “L” or “Q” clearance within the last 2 years

Previous SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience

Formal training in Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
