RECREATION THERAPIST

Responsibilities

Roxbury is currently hiring a full-time Recreation Therapist to work with our patients on our adult and adolescent psychiatric units.

This position qualifes for a $2,500 sign-on bonus!!

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Responsible for developing, planning and managing all recreational activities that aid in improving the physical, cognitive, emotional and social functioning of patients ranging from adolescents through geriatric. Activities will involve working closely with patients, family members and treatment team professionals in providing individual and group-based interventions to address therapeutic treatment goals for patients.

Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., has been a beacon of hope and healing for 40 years, serving those struggling with behavioral health and substance use issues. Located in Shippensburg, PA., our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as, an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17. We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education : Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation Therapy or in a Creative Art Therapy field (i.e., Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Dance Therapy or Psychodrama); or a major in a related therapeutic discipline including occupational therapy. Master's degree, preferred.

EXPERIENCE :

Two (2) years of experience developing and implementing recreational treatment plans and assessments for patients; knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
