The Director of Sales – Power Systems is a leadership role responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives that drive revenue growth and market expansion within the power systems sector. This individual will have personal goals for growth as well as lead a high-performing sales team focused on delivering energy solutions, with a focus on electrical power distribution equipment, including generators, medium & low voltage switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, UPS systems, transfer switches, medium voltage transformers and related services to industrial, commercial, and utility customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Analysis : Have experience in the electrical power distribution market and understand market dynamics, competitors, and opportunities. Identify gaps and use resources as needed to research target markets for the company’s solutions.
- Sales Strategy : Create and execute sales plans and pricing strategies to grow in target markets, acquire customers, and increase market share. Develop focused sales messages to key customers and decision-makers.
- Marketing and Promotion : Collaborate with marketing to create campaigns and materials that showcase our products. Utilize trade shows, online platforms, and industry publications.
- Customer Relationship Management : Build and maintain client relationships in the target markets. Understand and address their needs and challenges. Identify key decision makers.
- Quoting Responsibilities : Handle the full quoting process from initial inquiry through to post-sale support, including scope review and costing details. Utilize other team members to achieve goals.
- Negotiation and Contract Management : Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring favorable terms and resolving issues during the sales process.
- Training and Support : Provide training and support to staff, distributors, external reps, and end-users on product usage and promotion.
- Performance Analysis : Monitor and analyze sales, market trends, and customer feedback to refine strategies. Manage sales forecasts, pipelines, and reporting metrics using CRM and other sales tools.
- Product Development : Work with the design team on portfolio strategy to enhance or develop new electrical power distribution equipment that meets industry requirements and is cost-effective.
- Networking and Industry Engagement : Represent the company at industry events to build connections and enhance visibility.
What We Need You To Have
3+ years of sales experience in power systems, electrical equipment, or energy solutions.Strong industry sales knowledge of electrical power distribution, and backup systems.Demonstrated success in managing large accounts and leading technical sales effortsExcellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or 5+ years equivalent experience in industry.Willingness to travel as required.What We’d Love For You To Have
Extensive experience working with customer users of electrical power distribution equipment.Extensive experience working with purchasers of electrical power distribution equipment including industrial manufacturers, general contractors, and EPC’s.7+ years or more of industry sales experience and established network.Additional Information
