Payroll Administrator

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for accurate and timely processing of union employee payroll by calculating wages, deductions, overtime, and bonuses, maintaining employee records, ensuring compliance with payroll laws, and addressing payroll-related inquiries, often working closely with the HR department and Operations to update employee information and manage changes in employment status and pay rates in accordance with the applicable Collectively Bargained Agreement (CBA).

Role and Responsibilities :

• Coordinate and process the weekly wage payments of approximately 1,300 union employees via four (4) payroll entities (i.e. companies)
• Manage union employee tax forms and ensure appropriate taxes are applied to each employee using a working knowledge of state and federal taxes (deeper research as needed on local and other taxes)
• Reconcile & prepare weekly and monthly benefit payments due to various industry associations
• Maintenance and updating of employee information within the payroll processing system
• Coordinate with union representatives to resolve union employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
• Process manual payments required to reverse or correct payroll errors as needed
• Maintain complete and accurate notes related to weekly processing changes
• Upkeep of employee records and administrative duties, as needed
