Overview

Automation & Controls Technician at TecPro Ltd in Alaska. The Automation & Controls Technician will provide automation and commissioning support services for TecPro and subsidiary companies in Alaska.

Base pay range

$90,000.00 / yr - $110,000.00 / yr

Responsibilities

• Control System field commissioning and diagnostics.
• Develop software and hardware solutions for control systems.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC based control systems including Rockwell, GE, Modicon, Siemens, etc.
• Program and troubleshoot HMI and DCS applications to include graphical design, scripting, and database queries on platforms including Ignition, Aveva (Wonderware), Honeywell Experion, and others.
• Set up and maintain process control networks using Ethernet, Modbus, ControlNet, Profibus and other automation-specific protocols.
• Read and understand electrical prints and P&IDs.
• Document Automation / SCADA systems per established procedures.
• Design and implement algorithms for feedback control systems.
• Test and troubleshoot control systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
• Write technical reports and documentation.
• Work with the field Instrumentation and Electrical Team assisting with troubleshooting and maintenance where required.
• Keep abreast of new Automation / SCADA related developments and technology in areas such as equipment, software, governmental regulations, PCN cybersecurity, and communications.

Office Location and Travel

This position is based in Wasilla, AK. Frequent travel will be required to visit job sites around Alaska.

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, with a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent may be briefly exposed to ambient temperature ranges of negative (-)60F to positive (+)110F due to extremes of Alaska environmental conditions. Typical duties may require standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to manipulate tools or controls. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs may occasionally be required.
