Under limited supervision, provides counseling and support to individuals who are grieving after a loss. Services are provided to all age groups
Education
Master's degree in a counseling-related field required, MSW preferred.
Experience
Clinical experience in assessing, intervening, and providing time limited counseling to clients grieving a loss which may include anticipatory grief and or caregiver stress. Experience in public speaking in a variety of settings with groups of varying size. Experience in facilitating support groups. Experience and / or willingness to serve as a field instructor for MSW interns.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Mental health and bereavement knowledge and experience to ensure understanding of the basic issues of human development and behavior
Analytical skills necessary to assess client needs, to establish a plan of care and to effect appropriate interventions
Time management skills and discipline required to efficiently and effectively manage job duties
Ability to read and write the English language in order to complete required professional documentation and correspondence.
Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively engage clients, interns and community members
Licensures, Certifications
LCPC or LCSW-C preferred.
If candidate does not have the highest level of clinical licensure at the time of hire then they have 6months to obtain such, otherwise face the consequence of termination.
Physical Requirements
Ability to drive in rural, suburban and urban areas to provide grief counseling and support services.
Ability to walk and climb stairs as appropriate.
Ability to access partner facilities, schools and offices in the community.
Working Conditions
Work is performed virtually, inside the organization's offices, and in community settings in all types of weather conditions
Able to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts assessments of grieving clients and establishes a plan of care, coordinates same with the interdisciplinary team
Provides support to family members for caregiver stress and / or anticipatory grief throughout Gilchrist
Provides time-limited grief counseling to assist clients in adjustment to pending and / or loss
Assesses needs for counseling beyond the time frame or scope of Gilchrist Grief Services and provides referrals for service in the community
Maintains documentation in the electronic medical record
Conducts support groups and workshops as assigned
Facilitates special events within the scope of services ch as : celebration of life events, caregiver seminars, CEU events to the community and Gilchrist staff, and other related bereavement outreach
Conducts outreach, education, training sessions and debriefings in the communities assigned. Identify other community outreach opportunities.
Develop and maintain relationships with business, churches, healthcare organizations and others to ensure that they aware of Gilchrist Counseling and Support
Participates in the bereavement on-call system. Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Establish performance metrics aligned with the department and organizations strategic plan
Supervises Social Work interns from master's level programs as assigned

Pay Range
$56,785.43 - $90,856.69
Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
