Job Summary

The Receptionist is responsible for managing patient interactions via phone and assist with administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations. This role requires a compassionate and professional demeanor, as it involves handling sensitive patient information and provides essential support to our patients and clinic.

Responsibilities :

  • Answer incoming calls from patients providing a warm and welcoming greeting.
  • Schedule, reschedule and cancel patient appointments using the office's scheduling system.
  • Collect and verify patient information including demographics and insurance details.
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and care, directing them to the appropriate department, when necessary.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to communicate patient needs and updates.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in customer relations.
  • Ability to use discretion while working with sensitive information.
  • Ability to adjust approach to meet changing demands and situations including dealing with diverse people.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance.
  • Ability to operate a computer, computer software, and basic office equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge and compliance of Patient Rights, including patient confidentiality.
  • Licenses & Certifications

  • Basic Life Support is preferred
  • Education And Experience

  • Previous customer service experience in a high-volume setting
  • Work Schedule

  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM, at the Hand Center of Louisiana in New Orleans, Louisiana.
