Staff Assistant
This position provides support to the Child Protective Investigations and will be located in the Family Safety program. Examples of work performed include providing clerical support for a multi-function Family Safety Unit, meeting the public as receptionist, maintaining a working knowledge of the Department of Children and Families and community resources, preparing intake case records, typing correspondence, reviewing typed materials, compiling files, attending staff meetings, and distributing incoming mail.
Knowledge of office procedures, effective communication, data collection, arithmetic, rules, regulations, and problem-solving techniques are required. Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and establish work relationships is also necessary. Minimum requirements include three years of secretarial or clerical work experience, telephone etiquette, and the ability to lift 25 lbs. or more.
