Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Innovations unit in an acute level 1 trauma setting, requiring an active ND or compact RN license and recent large hospital experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is based in an acute hospital on a 32-bed Med / Surg Innovations unit
  • Adult patient population with various medical-surgical diagnoses
  • Level 1 trauma environment with advanced care capabilities
  • Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 4-5 during days and 1 : 5-6 at night
  • Uses Epic for charting, experience required
  • Equipment includes OmniCell, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, Language Line, Zebra phones
  • 12-hour rotating day and night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Self-scheduling allowed but may be adjusted to balance unit needs
  • Floating required to other Med / Surg units within the health system
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care including assessments, medication administration, and multidisciplinary communication
  • Maintain clear documentation of all care activities in Epic
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and update patients and families on care plans
  • Assigned 8-hour classroom LEAD Center orientation plus 24 hours of unit-specific training
  • Navy blue scrubs are required
  • All clinicians must badge in and out of the facility
  • Must disclose any previous employment with the health system and have a 6 month separation prior to consideration

  • Active ND or compact RN license required
  • Current AHA BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in a hospital with 250+ beds
  • Direct experience in a busy level 1 trauma center required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Willingness to float throughout the facility as needed
  • Candidates must not reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
  • Local travel rate applies for those residing within 80 miles
