American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Innovations unit in an acute level 1 trauma setting, requiring an active ND or compact RN license and recent large hospital experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is based in an acute hospital on a 32-bed Med / Surg Innovations unitAdult patient population with various medical-surgical diagnosesLevel 1 trauma environment with advanced care capabilitiesNurse to patient ratio is 1 : 4-5 during days and 1 : 5-6 at nightUses Epic for charting, experience requiredEquipment includes OmniCell, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, Language Line, Zebra phones12-hour rotating day and night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday requiredSelf-scheduling allowed but may be adjusted to balance unit needsFloating required to other Med / Surg units within the health systemProvide comprehensive nursing care including assessments, medication administration, and multidisciplinary communicationMaintain clear documentation of all care activities in EpicCollaborate with the interdisciplinary team and update patients and families on care plansAssigned 8-hour classroom LEAD Center orientation plus 24 hours of unit-specific trainingNavy blue scrubs are requiredAll clinicians must badge in and out of the facilityMust disclose any previous employment with the health system and have a 6 month separation prior to consideration\n \n Requirements\n
Active ND or compact RN license requiredCurrent AHA BLS certification requiredMinimum 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in a hospital with 250+ bedsDirect experience in a busy level 1 trauma center requiredEpic EMR experience requiredStrong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skillsWillingness to float throughout the facility as neededCandidates must not reside within a 60-mile radius of the facilityLocal travel rate applies for those residing within 80 miles\n Benefits\n
