Unit : Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) – Cardiac Stepdown

Position Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Start Date : December 15, 2025

End Date : March 14, 2026

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

Hours per Week : 36

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in cardiac stepdown, intermediate care, or acute care nursing

Previous travel nursing experience required

Active Virginia RN license or Compact State RN license

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale

Charge nurse experience preferred

Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

Ability to work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Submit all requested time off with application

Provide work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days

Skills checklist and RN license copy required for submission

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA units

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a teaching hospital setting

Monitor patient status, administer medications, and perform cardiac interventions

Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR

Participate in weekend rotations and unit routines

Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures

Support a culture of mentorship and teamwork within the unit
