Engineering Support Technician - Part-Time

Position Description

At a Glance

Legrand  has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Engineering Support Technician to join the Data Center Power and Control Division Team in  Conover, NC. Manufactures a variety of fiber optic assemblies and records and analyzes results.  Records data from testing in standard formats and provides results to the Engineering Team. Uses CNC equipment to produce prototypes for internal design review, including Turret Press, Press Brake, and milling equipment.

What Will You Do?

• Carries out manufacturing plans for prototypes following standardized procedures.
• Conducts R&D testing of existing and new product designs for both internal and external customers.
• Maintains continuous communication with design staff regarding test progress and results.
• Provides recommendations to engineering design staff for design improvements.
• Creates, maintains, and presents test reports with summaries and analysis.
• Maintains, calibrates, and repairs all lab equipment and equipment certifications.
• Performs FAR (first article requirements) evaluation and provides detailed descriptions of any non-conformities.
• Performs other similar and related duties as required.
