Neuro Surgical -

NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Start : 10 / 6 or 10 / 20 - Bi-weekly orientation

Guaranteed hours : 36 (will accept 48s upon request)

Float Requirement : First to float within skillset. Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

On Call / Call Back Requirement : N / A

Weekend / Holiday Requirement : Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.

Required Certs to be attached upon submittal : Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.

Minimum Experience REQUIRED : Two years of strong Neuro exp, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.

Charting Experience : Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)

Patient Population : Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients CVAs, elective back / neck surgeries, post-op cranis, cerebral angiogram. General medical and psych.

Skillset : NIHSS / dysphagia screen / strong Neuro assessements, basic tele interpretation, strict Is & Os / straight cath / Foleys, intitate / titrate heparin gtts., blood / blood product administration / venipuncture / blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain managemen, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!

Unit Information : 37 beds. Ratio : Days 1 : 5-6; NOCs 1 : 5-7; CN takes partial patient assignment.
