Tax Manager – Corporate & Partnership Tax | Contract-to-Hire | Remote

Overview :

A leading media and entertainment company is seeking a Tax Manager to join its Corporate Tax team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role will focus on domestic corporate and partnership income tax compliance , ASC 740 tax accounting , and tax provision review for multiple business divisions. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in federal, state, and local income tax filings, along with a strong technical foundation in tax accounting and financial reporting.

This is an opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of businesses within a global organization recognized for its success in news, sports, and entertainment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Review corporate and partnership federal, state, and local income tax returns to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions, including payment coordination and deadline tracking.
  • Review interim and year-end tax provisions with a focus on current taxable income and deferred balances under ASC 740 .
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to collect and analyze financial data supporting income tax filings and forecasts.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of business operations across assigned divisions to ensure proper tax treatment.
  • Manage and mentor tax team members and consultants on assigned projects.
  • Prepare responses to tax notices and liaise with taxing authorities to resolve inquiries or disputes.
  • Support tax audit and planning initiatives , contributing to process improvement and compliance efficiency.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree required; CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
  • 8+ years of domestic income tax compliance experience , ideally within a national public accounting firm or large corporate tax department.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate and partnership income tax principles and ASC 740 .
  • Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, logical formulas).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and remotely , managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter with strong technical judgment and attention to detail.
