Diagnostic Imaging Professional

The Diagnostic Imaging Professional performs diagnostic imaging procedures to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. This involves positioning radiographic equipment or x-ray film to produce images with necessary detail or contrast to assist with diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities :

• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with professional values.
• Position radiographic equipment or x-ray film to produce images with necessary detail or contrast to assist with diagnosis and treatment.
• Explain the radiographic procedure to the patient, obtain a complete and accurate history relevant to the examination to be performed.
• Communicate effectively with the patient.
• Provide staff and patient protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards.
• Implement and monitor local, state, and national regulations, standards, requirements, and clinical protocols for radiologic imaging services.
• Maintain x-ray equipment by performing scheduled cleaning / tests and document results.
• Maintain and update patient and study information to ensure billing and RIS / PACS accuracy; handle patient records while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Perform other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor, or manager.
• Responsible for maintaining continuing education required for licenses and job positions.
