PICU RN Job Details Location : Charleston, SC 29401 (South Carolina nursing jobs) Assignment Length : 13-week travel nurse contract Start Date : November 3, 2025 End Date : February 2, 2026 Shift : 3x12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM), 36 hours per week Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and holiday rotation required Float Pool : Float to all pediatric units (CVPICU, NICU, PICU) as needed Patient Ratios : 1 : 2 or 1 : 3 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680 - $1800 PICU Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU (PICU) nursing experience required Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State / Compact State Registered Nurse License (pending license considered with proof of application) BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association required) Experience with ECMO and CRRT preferred Proficiency in pediatric dosage calculations, ventilator management, central line care, and interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs across pediatric critical care units Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) First-time travel nurses accepted if all experience requirements are met PICU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in a float pool setting Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment Administer medications and manage advanced therapies including ventilators, ECMO, and CRRT Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services) Maintain strict adherence to infection control and isolation precautions Participate in emergency response teams as needed, especially during hurricane season Educate and support pediatric patients and their families Float to various pediatric critical care units (CVPICU, NICU, PICU) as assigned Why Choose Charleston for Your Next Travel Nursing Assignment?
