American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Des Moines, Iowa.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Oncology position requiring oncology experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is based in a Med / Surg Oncology unit
  • No drips or titrate medications are managed on this unit
  • EPIC (Beacon) is used for electronic charting
  • Port competency experience is important for the role
  • Responsibilities include the care of oncology patients in a Med / Surg setting
  • Must be willing to discuss the assignment and department with radiology leadership prior to placement
  • Must be able to provide documentation of port competency
  • Travelers are required to work 2 out of the 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
  • Only one day of time off can be requested from 11 / 26 to 11 / 30 and from 12 / 23 to 1 / 2
  • Former employees may not be eligible if employed within the last 12 months
  • First-time travelers are accepted with additional oncology experience

  • Active IA or compact state RN license required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Minimum of 1 year oncology nursing experience required
  • First-time travelers must have at least 2 years of oncology experience
  • Experience with EPIC (Beacon) charting system strongly encouraged
  • Port competency is required
  • One recent supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required
