We are seeking a Head of Communications to lead our global communications strategy. Reporting to the CEO, this person will be responsible for developing and executing EG's communication strategy in collaboration with senior leaders. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in leading communication teams in a global organization within the geopolitical consulting industry.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CEO, President, and divisional leaders to develop and evolve EG's communication strategy.
- Elevate the public-facing interaction of EG, its analysts, events, and media company via comprehensive media outreach and communication strategies to expand audience and brand reach.
- Engage advisory clients, media, government, experts, and influencers to further our mission as the go-to source for understanding global political news.
- Oversee development of press releases, op-eds, statements, and rapid response materials.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage to inform messaging and proactive storytelling opportunities.
- Work closely with colleagues across the company to identify and coordinate external media and event opportunities.
- Oversee crisis communications and reputation management strategies.
- Enhance internal communications to inform staff, further firm priorities, and strengthen EG's engaging and irreverent culture.
- Contribute to our social media strategy.
- Lead the recruitment, performance management, development, and retention of talent for the communications team.
- Oversee department operations within expected budget, scope, and timelines.
Requirements
Passion for politics10+ years of experience as a global communications leader, ideally in the geopolitical consulting industry.Master's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.Extensive existing network in media.Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Editorial leadership expertise.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Data-driven and entrepreneurial mindset.Creative, resourceful, and committed to continuous improvement.Proficiency in communications-related technology and social media platforms.Strong leadership, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.Sense of ownership and urgency in executing responsibilities.Location : Preferably based in New York City. The applicable base salary range for this role is $165,000 to $180,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
