Job Summary
The Director of Ambulatory Nursing Practice and Regulatory Compliance provides clinical and regulatory oversight for primary care, medical specialty, surgical specialty, and procedural ambulatory clinics. Reporting to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, the Director works in close partnership with Ambulatory Executive Directors, Practice Managers, Nurse Managers and Medical Directors of each clinic in a matrixed structure. The position oversees the clinical practice and standards of care provided by registered nurses (RNs), licensed vocation nurses (LVNs), medical assistants (MAs), and technicians to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with all regulations. The Director is also responsible for the clinical practice for the Primary Care Network nurse triage team and the ambulatory resource pool of clinical support staff. This position requires traveling to all Academic Clinics and UC Davis Health Community Clinic locations to work various shifts for various lengths of time. Travel is required to various clinic sites in the greater Sacramento area, Placer County, and Yolo county.

Providing comprehensive ambulatory services to patients across the Sacramento region through 74 clinics at 32 locations. We offer services in hospital-based clinics, a network of multispecialty off-campus clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and outpatient clinical affiliations. We also provide a vast array of virtual options for primary and specialty video visits, eConsults, extended hours telehealth express care, and home care services.

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
