Warehouse Picker And Packer
Under general supervision, is responsible for picking, packing and shipping of all inbound and outbound shipments along with the duties associated with shipment preparation. The incumbent prepares bills of lading for freight carriers, assists in loading trucks and obtains signatures on shipments. Responsible for counting & recording material to ensure accuracy of shipment and receipt; performs related duties as required.
Responsibilities include :
- Assembling orders and preparing goods for shipment
- Recording shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability
- Assisting in the handling of materials and items from receiving area to designated bin locations
- Facilitating outbound shipments using proper packing methods and 3rd party delivery services
- Fulfilling orders that are ready for shipment via will call, delivery or install
- Receiving and unpacking materials and supplies
- Reporting damages and discrepancies to request reimbursement or re-shipment
- Maintaining logs of all shipments outgoing and incoming
- Filling requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributing accordingly
- Allocating product to appropriate rack, shelf or bin location according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, brand or product code
- Preparing monthly production and volume reports in order to measure productivity and prepare billing charges
- Possibly performing any of the following functions at the direction of management :
- Handling hazardous materials
- Effectively maneuvering through computer system in order to perform specified duties
- Assisting with execution of weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory integrity
- Unpacking and examining incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, recording shortages and corresponding with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
- Posting weights and shipping charges and affixing postage
- Marking materials with identifying information
Qualifications include :
High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 1 year of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production experienceExperienced operating power tool equipment including but not limited to cherry picker, reach truck, pallet jack, etc.Previous experience with material handling is requiredWorking knowledge of scanning equipment, internal database tracking system, dollies and cartsBasic computer skillsExcellent customer service, professional attitude and appearance are a mustAbility to work overtime & meet deadlinesPhysical Demands include :
Physical activity required including bending, reaching, lifting and prolonged periods of sitting or standingMay lift and / or move up to 50 lbs.Experience operating power tool equipmentIf required to operate a forklift, must be forklift certified and be able to use hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or workWhat We Offer :
