Metrology Calibration Program Coordinator

Contract : 12 Months (W-2)

Location : 1845 W 205TH ST., Torrance, CA 90501

Schedule : Non-9 / 80, 1st Shift, Start at 07 : 00 AM

What your day looks like

You’ll be the point person for our calibration program—keeping precision equipment on schedule, compliant, and ready for production. Your morning may begin by reviewing upcoming calibrations, issuing purchase requisitions, and confirming quotes from partner calibration houses. Midday, you’ll coordinate on-site calibration visits for stationary assets, update cycle inventory in our systems, and enforce calibration, FOE / FOD, and ESD protocols across the lab. You’ll also support incoming, in-process, and final inspections, review documentation, and create clear, accurate inspection records.

Impact of the role

By administering a calibration system aligned with AS9100 and ISO 17025, you’ll help ensure every torque tool, oscilloscope, RF antenna, force gage, and thread gage is controlled and compliant. Your attention to detail sustains our Quality Assurance team’s mission in a fast-growing operation serving primarily military customers.

Core responsibilities

  • Administrate and maintain the calibration system in compliance with AS9100 and ISO 17025.
  • Update calibration cycle inventory and maintain auditable records.
  • Enforce calibration, FOE / FOD, and ESD protocols; perform ESD verification on monitors and mats.
  • Request quotes and coordinate services with external calibration houses; all tools are outsourced for calibration.
  • Generate purchase requisitions and nonconforming equipment records within Quality Applications and ERP.
  • Coordinate on-site calibration schedules for stationary equipment with Operations.
  • Support QA Lab receiving and perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Review supporting data and documentation; produce thorough inspection records.
  • Serve as an established, productive individual contributor under moderate supervision.

What you’ll bring

  • Metrology administration : 1.5+ years (preferred).
  • Electronics assembly standards : 3–5 years with IPC-A-610 and / or J-STD-001, Class 3.
  • Standards familiarity : ISO 17025; INSI / ANSI NCSL Z540.1 or other metrology standards (preferred).
  • Inspection capability : Mechanical inspection and use of mechanical inspection tools (preferred).
  • Systems : Experience with Quality Applications such as TIPQA and Oracle (preferred); Deltek Costpoint ERP (preferred).
  • Technical foundation : Understanding of electronics functionality (preferred).
  • Tools : Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
  • Quality environments : Experience in ISO 9001 and / or AS9100 systems.
  • Core strengths : Detail-oriented, organized, communicative; comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Education & experience

  • Education : High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent years of experience).
  • Work Experience : 1.5+ years.
  • Physical demands & working conditions

    Sitting / standing approximately 90 / 10. Regular movement between manufacturing areas and buildings. Frequent use of smocks for ESD and FOD control. Some equipment weighs over 30 lbs—assistance will be provided as needed. Includes packaging tools for external calibration.

    Travel

    Limited local travel (within 75 miles) for training and / or supplier source inspections may be required.

    You’ll be part of the Quality Assurance team within a rapidly growing organization supporting primarily military customers.
