Description :
Under the supervision of a more experienced Engineer, an Intern will be exposed to :
- Perform electrical design of lighting, power distribution and communication systems including fire alarm systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical Drafter / Designers on the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications)
- Analyze data and prepare technical reports and documentation
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and circuits
- Research commercially available equipment and selecting equipment appropriate for project / client needs.
- Provide excellent communication to all stakeholders
- Perform field inspections to verify existing site conditions.
Requirements :
Successful completion of Junior Year majoring in Electrical Engineering by start of the InternshipPursuing B.S. Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited institutionG.P.A. - 3.0 cumulative or abovePrevious engineering internship or related experience strongly preferredLeadership experience in university activities a plusAbility to seek guidance from more experienced Engineers and retain / apply the learnings to future tasksEnjoys getting "hands dirty" as well as using intellectual capabilitiesThe Work Environment :
Work environment is primarily indoors at firms’ facility, with approximately 10% of time spent indoors / outdoors at project or construction sites where hard-hat and other safety gear is often required. (PPE is provided by firm.)While performing field work associated with this position employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and / or climb ladders of varying heights.
