Job descriptionDeliver comprehensive care to patients during labor, delivery, and post-delivery recovery, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met. Monitor vital signs and observe labor progress, promptly identifying and responding to any complications. Assist physicians and obstetricians with procedures, screenings, and emergency interventions as needed. Provide patient education on childbirth, lactation, and postpartum care to promote healthy outcomes. Offer emotional support and reassurance to mothers and families during a significant life event. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with hospital policies and protocols. Valid and current RN license with specialization or experience in Labor & Delivery nursing. Certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) are required. Prior experience in a labor and delivery setting is preferred. Ability to handle high-pressure situations with poise, compassion, and professionalism. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) check is required prior to employment. Candidates must have reliable transportation; please note that rural Gunnison does not have public transportation options. Access to a personal vehicle is essential.
