Materials Coordinator
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for supporting the production and purchasing departments by accurately controlling inventory, interpreting detailed structural drawings, and coordinating information flow to ensure materials are processed and acquired efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Control : Accurately receive and manage material within inventory software (Tekla EPM / Fabtrol, etc.), ensuring data accuracy and reconciling usage.
- Detail Drawing Processing : Read and interpret detailed structural drawings to facilitate the transfer of critical production information into the inventory management system.
- Shop Production Support : Determine which materials can be processed in-house versus which must be purchased. Provide the shop with necessary cutting information.
- Purchasing Support : Provide the Purchasing Department with comprehensive material information for necessary acquisitions.
- Information Flow : Monitor email for incoming drawing releases and print material labels upon completion of drawing processing.
Required Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent.Skills : Ability to read and interpret detail structural drawings (a core requirement). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must maintain a neat outward appearance at all times.Physical Requirements This is primarily a sedentary position with occasional walking in the shop and office. Ability to climb stairs and minimal lifting (up to 50 lbs.) may be required.
Pay Rate : $18-21 hourly (depending on experience)
