Assistant Service Manager – United Supermarkets, LLC
Summary
The Assistant Service Manager is first and foremost responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. He / she assumes total store responsibility in the absence of the Store Director, Assistant Store Director, Grocery Manager, and Service Manager. Responsibilities include controlling cash and returned checks, and assisting the Service Manager in achieving front-end productivity goals while maintaining superior guest service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet, acknowledge, and engage every guest who enters the area or department.
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of all service counter team members, bookkeepers, maintenance, fuel clerks, floral clerks, checkers, and sackers.
- Manage all Service Counter functions and coordinate scheduling with the Grocery Manager.
- Conduct initial interviews and new team member orientations, including all necessary documentation.
- Ensure proper checking, bagging, and bookkeeping procedures are followed.
- Order supplies for front-end maintenance and coordinate needs with the Grocery Manager.
- Perform performance evaluations and coaching sessions in a timely manner.
- Assist with general store information for Spirit and Spirit-Too publications when no Talent Relations Manager is present.
- Promote general public relations and "Spirit" initiatives within the store.
- Manage payroll and accounting procedures in the absence of a Talent Relations Manager.
- Delegate and assign training as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the entire front-end, including check stands, floors, exterior, and parking lot.
- Act as the designated human resource manager for hiring, training, and orientation when no Talent Relations Manager is available.
- Safeguard, control, and monitor all store assets with proper policies and procedures.
- Ensure overall guest and team member safety.
- Perform other duties as requested or required by management.
Key Requirements
Minimum age 18 years.High school diploma or equivalent.Must work 40 hours per week, including opening, closing, and shift duties as necessary.Certified Food Safety Manager certification required.Minimum one year of store experience.Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods (up to 6 hours).Capable of bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, and walking.Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.Seniority Level
