About The Position

Must-Have : Ability to titrate cardiac drips; successful completion of a dysrhythmia exam; passing a simulation lab on the first day of orientation.

Description :

Auto offer off of prescreen.

Must be able to titrate cardiac drips.

Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to signing the contract, with a maximum of 2 attempts within 48 hours of the offer.

If a traveler fails, they will be sent home and made do not use for 6 months.

There is also a pass / fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation.

If a traveler fails the simulation, they will be sent home and made do not use for 6 months.

Must float between all telemetry and medical-surgical units.

Floating is required based on skill level.

Nurses will float to similar or lower acuity units, including telemetry and medical-surgical units.

Notification of campus and unit will be given 1.5 hours prior to shift start.

Floating to different units mid-shift can occur.

Rarely will float to another campus within a single shift, but it is possible.

Must clock out when leaving one campus and clock in upon arrival at another campus.

Floor specific orientation will consist of 2 shifts on the floor.

Common diagnoses include post-cath lab, post-vascular procedures, general telemetry, neuro post-surgical, and medical-surgical patients.

Nurse to patient ratios will vary by unit.

Certifications such as BLS and ACLS are required.

Weekend requirement includes 4 weekend shifts per schedule.

Registered Nurses must be able to interpret EKGs.

Support services such as respiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24 / 7.

Shifts are 12 hours in duration.

Floating may occur to all telemetry and medical-surgical units as needed.

The environment is fast-paced and requires strong clinical skills.
