A Day in the Life :

The Lead Radiation Therapist is responsible for ensuring quality radiation therapy is consistently and accurately delivered as instructed by Dosimetrists, Chief Medical Physicist and Physician. S / he oversees the workflow and adjustments as needed to ensure patient care is not disrupted. The Lead Radiation Therapist functions as a part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and serves as a technical advisor to other members of the multidisciplinary team and the Radiation Therapist. The Lead Therapist supervises other

radiation therapists.

You’ll Bring : Education

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)- Required

Graduate of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology- Required

Certification & Licensures

Registered by State or National Organization in conjunction with Radiation Therapy- Required

BLS (American Heart Association)- Required

Experience with Varian ARIA EMR- Preferred

Arizona Radiation Therapist License-Required

Must maintain CE credits to retain certification

BLS / RQI (American Heart Association)- Required

Experience

Minimum 2 years experience as a Radiation Therapist- Preferred

Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs.
