We are seeking a motivated, experienced and dependable Medical Assistant (MA) to join our patient-focused team.
Medical Assistant will work with our Board Certified Family Medicine (Primary Care Physician PCP) / Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine. His practice of 25 years provides comprehensive medical care, integrating general primary care with specialized evaluation and treatment of sports-related conditions.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
Clinical responsibilities
- Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms
- Obtain and document vital signs, (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, respiration)
- Record patient history, chief complaint, assist with referrals to specialists, communicate with pharmacies.
- Assist with physical exams and minor procedures
- Apply and remove braces and other Orthopedic treatments
- Perform EKG, visions screenings, peak flow and other diagnostic tests
- Administer injections (vaccines, medications) as directed by provider
- Perform venipuncture and prepare specimens for lab testing
Sports Medicine Specific Tasks
- Provide pre-participation physical support (health history)
- Support rehabilitation plans by assisting with range of motion or strength assessments
- Assist in fitting and education on athletics supports and braces
- Help coordinate imaging (x-rays, MRIs) and follow-up care
Administrative Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups
- Call in prescriptions and obtain prior authorizations
- Maintain patient records and ensure accurate charting in chart
- Respond to Patient messages referral requests and test results under provider Direction
- Monitor and restock clinical supplies and exam rooms
Compliance and Safety
- Follow infection control and HIPAA protocols
- Ensure equipment is clean and maintained (autoclave)
Key Responsibilities :
- Obtain vital signs, medical histories, and perform point-of-care testing
- Administer medications and injections under provider direction
- Prepare and clean exam rooms between patients
- Perform EKGs, rapid tests, and specimen collection as needed
- Accurately document patient information

Requirements :
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
- Current BLS certification
