Description
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and other TFI Leadership, the Senior Research Assistant assists with the implementation of Behavioral Science research studied. This position is grant-funded and is dependent on the availability of continued grant support. It is possible that the employee's effort will be transitioned, in whole or in part, to other research studies as needed to remain fully funded.
This position may require a flexible working schedule with some evening and weekend hours.
Responsibilities :
Implements recruitment efforts that lead to study participation
- Implements and evaluates study recruitment plan by identifying and establishing recruitment sources
- Recruits and interviews potential participants as specified by study protocols
- Maintains and updates related databases
- Presents about studies at community events, CAB meetings, and other appropriate forums
- Acts as first point of contact for study inquiries and interested participants
- Coordinate BSRP social media strategies by liaising with the communications team to post content promoting BSRP studies and to evaluate the impact of content
Coordinates study retention efforts
Implements retention efforts under the direction of the Principle Investigator and Project Manager.Assists with the establishment, revision, and evaluation of retention plansCompletes the day-to-day tasks of study-related retentionAssists in the development of research projects and publications
Utilizes library and electronic databases to locate and obtain research articlesPerforms administrative duties, as needed, in the development of research proposalsParticipates in conference calls and meetings with collaboratorsProvides updates on recruitment activitiesAssists with the publication of research findings through editing, writing, and preparing results.Assists with preparing research findings in poster or presentation format (use of Microsoft Power-Point or relevant software)Develops and maintains databases and other data collection systemsDevelops and revises study materials including study protocol, informed consent, eligibility screener, recruitment materials, and other study documents as neededPrepares materials for IRB submission, liaising with Fenway compliance manager and staff to meet IRB deadlines and ensure that submissions are in line with Fenway proceduresMonitors the quality of written and computerized data, including regular data quality assessments (QA and QC activities)Training
Conducts and supports training for study team members as assigned.Conducts interviews and arranges study visits with study participants as specified by study protocolsArranges, coordinates and oversees appointments with clients; assesses and documents eligibility and participation status of candidates; arranges follow-up appointmentsConducts research screenings with potential study participants in a clear, open-minded, non-judgmental context; maintains established guidelines of confidentiality and ethical accountability in all discourse with all study participantsObtains initial and ongoing informed consent from study participantsUtilizes written and verbal communication to contribute to the effective functioning of research projects
Maintains current knowledge of HIV, CBT, LGBT, substance use, and trauma research by reading academic journals, articles and other relevant publications, attending conferences, seminars, forums, trainings and other presentations pertinent to the fieldParticipates in open communication and discussion among co-workers regarding changes in protocol procedure and other information pertinent to department goals and objectivesMeets Agency Participatory Expectations

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social science research or related field requiredCollege-level course-work in research-design or statistics for behavioral or social sciences.Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with colleagues, patients, clients and vendors across the spectrum of diversity, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, national origin and immigrant status, religious or spiritual identity, disability (physical, mental, emotional and developmental), veteran status, and / or limited English proficiency.Willingness to contribute towards Fenway's efforts in becoming an anti-racist organization and promoting a culture dedicated to ongoing development in service of humility, equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, where differences are acknowledged and valued.Preferred Qualifications
