We are seeking a skilled and proactive Database Administrator to manage and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server and Azure environments. This is a primarily remote, 12-month contract position based in New York City. Candidates must be local and able to travel to the office as needed, at their own expense.

Database Administrator Responsibilities

As a Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance optimization of our database systems.

• Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Managed Instance databases
• Install, upgrade, patch, and migrate SQL Server databases
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues efficiently
• Ensure database security and regulatory compliance
• Monitor and optimize database performance and execute query tuning
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies
• Collaborate with development teams to support application database needs
• Stay updated with the latest Microsoft SQL Server and Azure advancements
• Document database procedures, standards, and best practices
• Participate in on-call rotation and handle assigned tasks proactively
