Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Set-Up Machinist to join our dynamic team in Grantsburg, WI. As a Set-Up Machinist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our machining operations run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various types of machining equipment, including lathes, mills, and grinders.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Adjust machine settings and tooling as necessary to achieve desired tolerances.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot and resolve any machining issues.
  • Document production processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Specific technical training or vocational training is preferred, but not required.
  • 8+ years of machine set-up experience required.
  • 15+ years of machining experience required.
  • Computer programming and CAD / CAM experience required.
  • Advanced blueprint reading and granite plate measuring skills required.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of DOD and / or aerospace manufacturing preferred
  • Possess strong organization and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Quality assurance practices and procedures, including both ISO 9001 and AS9100
  • Knowledge of Government contracting requirements.
