Position Summary
As a Pediatric Urgent Care Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to our young patients. This role allows you to leverage your medical assistant skills in a pediatric urgent care environment while working under the supervision of our physicians. Your ability to foster relationships with patients, families, and team members will be essential in ensuring a seamless care experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent clinical and administrative support for healthcare providers and patients.
- Welcome and register patients upon their arrival, ensuring a friendly experience.
- Collect medical histories, vital signs, and perform patient intake efficiently.
- Prepare patients for X-ray procedures.
- Conduct routine lab tests, including throat and urine cultures; venipuncture experience is preferred.
- Irrigate and assist with wound care.
- Participate in quality control testing within the laboratory.
- Contribute to the patient care team and assist in patient care as permitted by your scope of practice.
- Ensure exam rooms and the front reception area are well-stocked with supplies.
- Maintain a clean and orderly waiting room environment.
- Adhere to safety practices and protocols consistently.
- Assist patients in distress and promptly notify the medical team during emergencies.
- Support operational excellence by complying with policies and procedures, and reporting any necessary changes to management.
- Safeguard patient information by maintaining confidentiality and trust.
- Taking ownership of your responsibilities by seeking out challenging tasks and exploring opportunities to enhance your role.
- Assist patients with service recovery and address complaints proactively.
- Remain flexible to perform additional duties as needed, such as applying splints or aiding nurses and providers in medical procedures.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to all patients and visitors.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.Previous experience or training as a Medical Assistant is essential.Familiarity with EKG placement and processing for children is an advantage.Ability to perform laboratory tests via nasal swabs and venipuncture.Exhibit a professional and approachable demeanor at all times.Strong communication and organizational skills are a must.Prior pediatric experience is preferred.Adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with computers and the Microsoft Office Suite.Open to learning new medical software as required.Experience with managing medical records is a plus.If you're excited about working for a rapidly growing company alongside a dedicated team of overachievers, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
