Med / Surg Telemetry RN Job Details Location : Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 (Alabama healthcare jobs) Estimated Weekly Salary : $1720 - $1840 Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 8 / 2025 – End : 3 / 8 / 2026) Unit : Medical Respiratory Unit (42 beds 8-bed respiratory step-down) Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), every other weekend required Hours per Week : 36 (option for 48 hours / week available) Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week Parking : On-site parking available Dress Code : Solid Navy scrubs Registered Nurse Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or Compact state (no temporary licenses) BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross required Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med / Surg Telemetry or related clinical specialty 18 months of overall RN experience preferred Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed Experience with Meditech EMR preferred Med / Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care for adults with acute and chronic respiratory conditions (pneumonia, COPD, lung diseases) Manage medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, stroke, and post-surgical needs Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios : 1 : 6 in main unit, 1 : 4 in step-down unit Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds to enhance patient outcomes Float to other hospital units and facilities as required Work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled Discover rewarding Alabama nursing jobs in Tuscaloosa, a city known for its lively downtown, cultural attractions, and outdoor recreation.
