As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in managing some of the most exciting and technically challenging projects! Our geotechnical and pipeline team members work on a variety of transportation, energy, development, and natural resources projects. Responsibilities include planning field exploration programs, conducting technical briefings with field staff,

local / state / federal

permitting support, and project management tasks including budgeting and client communications. You will also be responsible for performing engineering analyses and preparing technical reports and proposals, as well as conducting regular site visits, attending client meetings, and overseeing field explorations and construction observations. As a project manager, you will be responsible for mentoring and overseeing the work of junior staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead or coordinate the development and implementation of field exploration programs and construction observation projects. Ensure that work performed is consistent with project plans and specifications as well as in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Assist with training junior technical and technician staff.
• Complete engineering analyses and calculations including : pavement design, slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, and trenchless crossing design.
• Lead the of technical reports including completion of routine reports, figures, tables, etc. Assist senior staff in completing portions of large, complex reports, figures, tables, etc.
• Lead the of construction plans and specifications for slope stabilization, trenchless crossings, and ground improvement projects.
• Lead project management tasks such as attending project meetings, budget and schedule planning, staffing and task assignments, deliverable preparation, and proposal development.

Qualifications

USACE permitting, and / or heavy civil project related geotechnical experience .

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in our Baton Rouge, LA office is $87,200 – $122,900 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. GeoEngineers' salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. As part of our competitive total rewards package, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
