Target Pay Range : $95,000 - $180,000

  • This represents the potential salary range for this position depending on education level, years of experience and / or certifications in addition to other position specific requirements which may impact salary

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated OpenShift / Cloud Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for engineering, automation, support, and providing technical leadership for Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments. The engineer will play a key role in application migration to container-based platforms, infrastructure optimization, and continuous delivery improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and manage Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments leveraging OpenShift and related technologies.
  • Lead or support application migration and modernization initiatives, including containerization and refactoring.
  • Design, implement, and manage automation for infrastructure provisioning and application deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support containerized application architectures.
  • Monitor platform health and performance, ensuring high availability and scalability.
  • Provide hands-on engineering expertise in cloud platforms and container orchestration tools.
  • Document system architecture, processes, and procedures; mentor and support knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Required Skills & Experience :

  • 5+ years of experience administering Red Hat OpenShift on VMs, bare metal, or managed services (e.g., ROSA).
  • Hands-on experience with OpenShift Container Platform v4.15+, OpenShift Data Foundation, or OpenShift Platform Plus.
  • Knowledge of Ceph storage administration.
  • Proficient in cloud administration (AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud).
  • Strong understanding of Linux containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and microservices-based application deployment.
  • Familiarity with enterprise technologies such as Java, JBoss, nginx, and Node.js.
  • Experience migrating and refactoring applications into container-based workloads.
  • Skilled in at least one scripting or configuration management tool (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Chef).
  • Experience with CI / CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts such as protocols, firewalls, and load balancing.
  • Willingness to document, train, and mentor other team members.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with VMware tools (vCenter, vRA, vRO).
  • Experience running OpenShift in bare-metal environments.
  • Familiarity with ROSA or Azure OpenShift.
  • Understanding of SSL certificate management.
  • Experience in Agile environments, including participation in sprints, stand-ups, and Kanban workflows.
  • Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace or QRadar.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
