Join Coinbase's Financial Services & Loyalty (FS&L) team to build Trade-Fi utility using blockchain advantages. FS&L is responsible for high-impact products like payments, credit card, on-chain borrowing and lending, staking, and CB One subscription, serving millions of users. We're looking for a deeply technical leader to define the North Star engineering vision for diver FS&L, drive architectural cohesion across our diverse product suite, and ensure our high-throughput systems are scalable and reliable. You will lead multi-quarter, cross-organizational initiatives and be a critical mentor to other senior engineers.

What You'll Be Doing

• Define and drive the technical vision and strategy for FS&L, ensuring systems achieve high throughput, low latency, and scale.
• Architect and build mission-critical financial systems (e.g., card processing, loan repayments) with a focus on funds flow, reconciliation, and invariants.
• Drive developer productivity by advocating for new tooling (Go, Temporal, K8, MongoDB) and AI adoption.
• Mentor and coach team members to foster growth and technical excellence.
• Partner with Product / Engineering leaders to align on long-term product and engineering strategy.
• Lead the creation of reusable platforms for adoption across Coinbase.
