Prevailing Wage Flagging Positions

We offer prevailing wage flagging positions available throughout The Dalles, La Grande, and Eastern Oregon areas. Hours : Varies depending on project needs, could average 30+ hours per week. Pay : Depending on Experience Requirements : ODOT Flagger Certification card (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Montana) Eighteen (18) years of age or older Employer will conduct pre-employment and random drug tests Valid Driver's License to access multiple work sites. Must have reliable transportation to and from work sites. Preferences At least 6 months or more verifiable flagging experience Job Duties : Receive and communicate specific instructions clearly, firmly, and courteously Move and maneuver quickly in order to avoid danger from errant vehicles Understand and apply safe traffic control practices Control signaling devices in order to provide clear and positive guidance to drivers approaching a work zone in frequently changing situations Recognize dangerous traffic situations and warn workers in sufficient time to avoid injury Control traffic flows in construction areas using paddles and two-way radios Be safety conscious and have the ability to follow safety procedures Follow directions Work in all weather conditions - rain, snow, hot, cold, windy, etc. Stand for the entire shift, anywhere from 2 to 12 hours Work and stand on any surface : bend or twist and use arms and hands for the entire shift : reach above head : and lift and carry 20 lbs Operate two-way radios and hand-held CB radio Other duties as assigned Equal Opportunity employer.
