The Facility Maintenance Technician assists in performing highly diversified duties to install equipment, troubleshoot, and maintain production of all JESPY facilities and equipment according to safe and productive maintenance systems and processes. This position is responsible for staying abreast of current trends as they relate to the department and staying aligned with best practices.
This Facility Maintenance Technician is also responsible for assisting in the monitoring of all construction, repairs, etc., of all agency sites. This position assists in the monitoring of all JESPY vehicles, including registration and insurance state compliance as well.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for maintenance (interior and exterior) of all JESPY properties
- Evaluate the need for renovations
- Assist in establishing budgetary guidelines with the Director of Operations for repairs and capital improvements
- Obtain estimates for all contracted work on JESPY property
- Assist in monitoring of all project progress through completion
- Coordinate purchase and maintenance of all JESPY vehicles
- Cooperate with the state agencies in any inspection or investigation
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of the program budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures
- Monitor and track any expenditure on the supplied credit card and report all expenditures to the finance department
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Office

High school diploma / GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.Work Experience Requirement
Extensive experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devicesExtensive experience performing routine maintenanceStrong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC a plusSkills / Abilities

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days may varySpecial Working Conditions / Physical / Requirements – Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
