Production Support Electrical Engineer
As a Production Support Engineer at G&W Electric, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our switchgear designs. You will support all switchgear products throughout the organization, investigate and resolve technical issues that arise during production, and contribute to the design of custom engineered products. Your expertise will help maintain the highest quality standards and ensure our products meet or exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot complex shop problems and develop solutions to design and manufacturing issues related to switchgear designs.
- Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to drive process improvement initiatives.
- Visualize, articulate, and solve problems; research and implement solutions.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, including testing, modifying, compiling, and executing concepts.
- Manage key performance indicators.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis to identify underlying reasons for technical problems and analyze data to support business decisions.
- Develop and implement solutions that minimize impact on production schedules.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to verify that all products meet quality and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of technical issues, investigations, and resolutions for future reference and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Facilitate support from Engineering, Quality, Applications, and Supply Chain during manufacturing to eliminate delays in delivery.
- Support the custom design of G&W products to internal engineering standards and best practices within customer lead times and quality expectations.
- Provide technical expertise for company and departmental projects such as Product Development, Aftermarket Support, Application Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
- Ensure all outgoing and incoming communications are accurate, timely, and appropriately distributed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross‑functional teams.Proactive and detail‑oriented work style.Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in electrical equipment manufacturing or related industries.Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.Experience with CAD and CAM software.Experience with schematic design.Change Management experience.Participation in continuous improvement initiatives.Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Problem‑Solving strategies.Experience in an ISO‑Certified manufacturing environment.What we offer you
Typical pay is $62,000 – $80,500 annually. Pay is based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications. This position is eligible for participation in our Quarterly Incentive Pay Program.
